Tsogo Sun Hotel & Caledon Casino

1. The Project Brief
Tsogo Sun appointed Next Level Superstructures to execute a major turn-key renovation at the Caledon Hotel & Casino in the Overberg. The project brief included the complete demolition and contemporary rebuild of Da Vinci’s Restaurant and complex, high-traffic commercial floor screeding and tiling across the active casino gaming floor.
2. Site Constraints & Regulatory Mandates
Casinos operate 24 hours a day under strict statutory Gaming Board regulations and continuous CCTV surveillance. Security clearances for all personnel were scrutinized continuously. Floor screeding and tiling around slot machine banks and live gaming tables required zero dust, rapid-setting chemical adhesives, and meticulous noise control.
3. Specialized Trades & Engineering Deployed
4. Programme Duration & Shift Execution
Executed in tight 4-week sectional phases. Gaming floor tiling was executed in cordoned zones during lowest-patron pre-dawn hours, allowing tile installations to achieve full load-bearing strength before daytime casino traffic resumed.
5. Verified Outcome & Handover Quality
Delivered high-luxury hospitality finishes with zero gaming floor downtime or compliance infractions. The modern Da Vinci’s restaurant reopened to enthusiastic guest reviews, providing an elevated culinary destination for hotel visitors.
